Sam TrickettSam Trickett, known today as one of the best British high stakes cash games players, was born on July 2, 1986, in East Retford, United Kingdom. Trickett, who is a CORGI registered gas engineer, was pursuing a career as a professional soccer player but in 2005 he suffered an unfortunate knee injury that put an end to his dream. This career-altering event forced Sam to seek a new passion on which he could focus his energy. He started playing poker in local casinos and soon became a regular on the Sheffield poker scene. Online he started with $10 Sit ‘n’ Go’s.

In 2008 Sam, a cash games specialist up to that point, established himself as a notable player in live tournaments after taking 4th place in the $5,000 No Limit event of the WSOP for $245,000.He then went on to win the GUKPT Main Event in Luton taking $210,000 for his victory.

After becoming a Team Titan member in March, 2010, Sam Trickett has had a very successful year with a spectacular World Series.

In the 41st World Series of Poker, Sam cashed 6 times, making over half a million:

** $141,168 for 7th place in Event #52 $25,000 No Limit Hold'em - Six Handed

** $25,838 for 17th place in Event #45 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em

** $5,620 for 22nd place in Event #39 $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em – Shootout

** $505,725 for 2nd place in Event #17 $5,000 No Limit Hold'em

** $11,694 for 40th place in Event #11 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em

** $3,792 for 100th place in Event #8 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em.

His total WSOP winnings for 2010 were $693,837.

With the addition of a 4th place finish in the DeepStack Vilamoura for a €139,680 prize and the 1st place finish at the PartyPoker World Open for $200,000 two weeks later, Sam proved himself as one of the best poker players of 2010. He deservedly received the ‘Player’s choice: Best New Player’ award at the inaugural British Poker Awards in September.
